Headteacher's Comment on the Ofsted Inspection of July 2022
Although the overall outcome of our most recent Ofsted inspection was disappointing, we were very encouraged by the numerous positive comments that inspectors made and the evidence of how far the school has come since its last inspection in 2018.
Here are some comments from the Ofsted report of July 2022:
'Pupils are happy and safe at Summerfield Junior and Infant School. The school’s core values of respect, resilience and aspiration are central to the work that they do. Pupils enjoy coming to school. Parents and carers are positive about the education their children receive.'
'Pupils are polite and friendly. At social times, pupils play together happily.'
'Leaders have adopted an ambitious curriculum for pupils....'
'Personal development is a strength.'
Since the inspection the school has taken immediate action to address the areas for improvement identified by inspectors and we are confident that we are well on the path to further improvement.
