Our Values & Ethos

Our school values

We believe the ethos of the school should be built on a foundation of core values.  These will be embedded on a monthly basis throughout the curriculum and will also be addressed in assemblies . Our values are the basis for the social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and moral development of the whole child. Each month, one child per class is awarded a coveted Headteacher's Award linked to them displaying the monthly value in their school life.

Our values for each month are shown below:

Month Value
September Kindness
October Liberty
November Fairness
December Ambition
January Tolerance
February Courage
March Choice
April

Friendship

May Responsibility
June Diversity
July Thoughtfulness

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote fundamental British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • Democracy
  • Rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
